We are The Soul Shockers!! Head Knockers, Body Rockers, Show Stoppers, Soul Shockers!!

The Soul Shockers have been making beautiful music together for over ten years. We are a group of guys who love to perform and entertain. We do everything we can to make your event as memorable for you as we can. We love what we do and we hope you do too!! Here’s a little info about us!!

Jerry Braxton: Lead Vocalist, Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar and Drums
-Birthday: September 2 (the sign of Virgo)
-Born in Louisville, KY
-Music Credits: Recording contract with RCA (The Main Attraction), Warner- Reprise (RAW) and JNS- Sony as a Solo Artist Jerry Braxton. In 1987 Winner of Memphis’ Ultimate Bass Competition
-Single and ready to Mingle, Heart Throb to all the Ladies
-Musician since the age of 12 years old
-Favorite past time: Artistic drawing- Cartooning published in Jabber-Blabber Magazine
-Tours have included: Africa, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing China, and throughout the United States.

Allen Averyhart: Saxophone, Lead and Backing Vocals
-Birthday: April 17 (the sign of Aries)

Jeffrey Rogers:Drummer, Lead and Background Vocals
-Birthday May 21st
-Born in Bronx, New York
-Professional Musician for 30 plus years
-Music Credits: drummer for Al Green, Barkays, Denise Williams, the late Rufus Thomas and numerous other national and regional recording artist.
-Traveled Africa, Asia, Europe and the US coast to coast
-Married with two children
-Graduate of The University of Memphis ’99 (Bachelor of Business Administration)
-Currently working at Fedex
-Musician at Greater Imani Church and Christian Center since 2002

Mitchell Stokes: Lead Guitar, Background Vocals

Breck Howard: Keyboards, Background Vocals
-Birthday March 18th
-Born in Dayton OH (home of 70’s funk)
-Began his musical journey at age 10 with local cover bands, the Dayton Rotary Boys Choir, school marching band, and all-city orchestra
-Along with vast professional experience, Breck uses his gift of reading and writing music at several Memphis churches
-A thirty year vegetarian
-Favorite color is yellow
-Spends his downtime hunting for antique treasures, and watching animated comedies.
-His ability to weather the uncertainty present in the music business and life is summed up by his oft used phrase, “All Remains Well!”
